Alcuin conference: from Jamie Smith, science and theology are both products of culture (not nature). I met an orthodox catechumen, who talked about Basil the great’s conception of science. My phenomena are beginning too reduced, a liturgy which spills over into students’ conception of reality being reductivist. Shiny metal spheres come after direct observation.
Also I talked to Doug Smith today, a 50 year old version of me. Grades, football, lines, we agree on so much.
From Chris Hall, true institutional change is done in grammar school, and grows up.
