Physics – Had a good talk with the students about science as wonderful enchantment rather than explaining away awe. In some ways the first success I’ve had at taking my thinking in the last few years and getting it into the classroom.
Math – as per Ravi Jain, started with geometry (as the origin of mathematics itself). I had the students create the areas below. A great intro activity for emphasizing mathematics as a representational art, and getting at the Singapore distinctives I want to incorporate.
